ITA National Indoors Singles Draw | ITA National Indoors Doubles Draw

CHARLOTTESVILLE – A trio of Virginia women’s tennis players will compete at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships beginning Nov. 7, while five members will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the UNC Invite on Nov. 8-10.

Sophomores Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and freshman Rachel Pierson (Princeton, N.J.) will compete at the National Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y. Elbaba and Pierson will compete in singles and doubles, while Collins will compete in singles. Elbaba earned automatic qualification after earning the consolation title at the Riviera/ITA All-American and Collins earned her bid by capturing the singles title at the ITA Atlantic Regional. Pierson earned an at-large bid after finishing runner-up to Collins at the regional. Elbaba and Pierson earned an automatic bid after capturing the doubles title at the ITA Atlantic Regional.

Seniors Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Li Xi (Kunming, China), sophomores Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) and Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) and freshman Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) will compete in singles and doubles at the UNC Invite from Nov. 8-10.

The USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships serve as the culmination of the fall college tennis season. Hosted by Columbia University, the prestigious event features a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw.

Twenty-one schools are represented in the women’s singles draw, with Georgia, UCLA and Virginia represented by three players each. The women’s singles draw also features six of the top 10 players from the ITA Women’s Preseason Rankings, including No. 9 Elbaba. The doubles field features 15 different schools in the field of 20 teams.

This is the fourth consecutive year the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships will be held at the home of the US Open.
