CHARLOTTESVILLE – No. 25 Virginia (1-1) continues non-conference action against Davidson (0-2) on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Charlotte, N.C. Tipoff at Time Warner Cable Arena (20,200) is set for Noon ET.

Virginia-Davidson Series
Virginia owns a 10-4 all-time record, including a 2-2 mark at neutral sites, against Davidson in a series that dates back to 1920-21. UVa has a six-game winning streak against Davidson, including a 71-47 win in the last meeting between the teams on Jan. 21, 1991. The Cavaliers are 1-2 against the Wildcats in Charlotte, where the teams meet for the first time since Jan. 13, 1975.

Virginia head coach Tony Bennett played three seasons in the NBA for the Charlotte Hornets from 1992-95, while Virginia’s Anthony Gill and Akil Mitchell grew up in the Charlotte area and were teammates at Charlotte Christian High School in 2009-10. UVa associate head coach Ritchie McKay was recently inducted into the Queens University of Charlotte Athletics Hall of Fame.

Virginia Ranked No. 25 in Latest National Polls
Virginia is ranked No. 25 in the latest Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. The Cavaliers were ranked No. 24 in the AP preseason poll, marking their first preseason AP top 25 ranking since being ranked No. 11 to start the 2001-02 season.

About the Cavaliers
Virginia is looking to rebound after its 59-56 loss to No. 14 VCU. The Cavaliers rank 10th nationally in scoring defense at 50 points per game, limiting opponents to 36.8 percent shooting from the floor. UVa has dominated its opponents on the glass, outrebounding its opponents by an average of 15.5 per game. Joe Harris leads UVa in scoring at 11.5 points per game, while Malcolm Brogdon has added 9.5 points and Akil Mitchell and Darion Atkins have added eight points each. Atkins leads the Cavaliers in rebounding at eight per game, while Mike Tobey has contributed 7.5 points and six rebounds per game off the bench. Anthony Gill was held scoreless against VCU after tallying a team-high 13 points in his Virginia debut. Freshman London Perrantes is averaging 25.5 minutes per game and Evan Nolte is expected to return to the lineup after missing the VCU contest with a concussion.
