NEW ORLEANS, La. – Virginia women’s cross country head coach Todd Morgan was named the 2013 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year as the organization announced its regional coach and athlete of the year awards Tuesday.

Morgan led the Cavalier women to the NCAA Southeast Region Championship last week at Panorama Farms. It was Virginia’s fourth regional title in the past six years as they automatically qualified for this week’s NCAA Championship meet.

The USTFCCCA cross country regional coach of the year award is the second of Morgan’s career. He was the 2009 South Region Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year at Florida.

Virginia, ranked No. 10 nationally, will compete at the NCAA Championship meet Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.
