AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France – Virginia junior tennis player Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.) was a member of the United States team that won the Master’U BNP Paribas, an international collegiate competition last week in France. Frank was one of six current collegiate men’s and women’s players that made up the American team.

The United States topped Ireland 6-1 in the quarterfinals, France 6-1 in the semifinals and Russia 7-0 in the final.

This year’s team consisted of three men’s players, Frank, Marcos Giron of UCLA and Peter Kobelt of Ohio State, and three women’s players, Robin Anderson of UCLA, Lauren Herring of Georgia and Sabrina Santamaria of USC.

It is the second straight tournament Virginia has had a player help the United States win the Master’U BNP Paribas. Last year, Jarmere Jenkins helped the Americans win the title.
