Stough Earns Playing Status on 2014 Web.com Tour

Charlottesville, Va. – Former Virginia men’s golf standout Kyle Stough (Laurel, Md.) has qualified for the Web.com Tour for 2014 following the tour’s qualifying school event. Stough finished tied for 38th to earn exempt status on the Web.com Tour until the second periodic re-order of the 2014 season. The Q-School event was held at the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta, Calif.

Stough shot 13-under 419 during the six-round tournament. He had scores of 70, 70, 75, 70, 69 and finished with a 65. Zach Fischer finished first at 31-under 401.

Stough has competed as a PGA TOUR Canada member the past two years. He finished 10th on the 2013 Order of Merit, earning an exemption into the final stage of the Web.com Tour Qualifying School. He had a pair of runner-up finishes on the PGA TOUR Canada, placing second at the Wildfire Invitational and the ATB Financial Classic.

Stough competed at Virginia from 2006 to 2010. He helped the Cavaliers to three consecutive appearances at the NCAA Championships and recorded seven top-10 showings during his career.
