Cockerton, a senior from Oshawa, Ontario, led the nation in goals scored (49) during the 2013 regular season. The third-team USILA All-American posted the fourth-best goal-scoring season in UVa history with his tally of 49 in 2013.
The Hamilton Nationals in the 2013 draft selected Chris LaPierre, who received a medical hardship during the 2013 season. The Nationals moved to the Sunshine State and became the Florida Launch. The Launch retains LaPierre’s rights until his eligibility is concluded. The Ohio Machine in the 2013 draft selected senior defenseman Joseph Lisicky, who transferred to Virginia from Lynchburg College in the fall. The Machine retains the rights to Lisicky after taking him in the sixth round and No. 41 overall. Lisicky missed 2013 with the Hornets because of an injury and came to UVa for graduate school to utilize his final year of eligibility.
