Greensboro, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the broadcast coverage today for its Olympic sports for the upcoming spring season, including a historical-best 242 events – 83 more than the previous mark.

“It’s great to see this year’s spring sports coverage reaching new heights which provides our players, schools and league with unprecedented exposure,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “The ongoing commitment shown by our television partners is appreciated as our fans will now have more access than ever before in following the ACC and its member schools.”

Highlights of the ACC’s upcoming spring broadcast schedule include:

• Seven weeks of “ACC Monday” on ESPNU, that will feature an ACC Olympic sport event in prime time.
• A record 144 baseball games, 40 more than the previous high – including all 15 games of the ACC Baseball Championship in Greensboro, N.C. (May 20-25).
• A record 37 softball games, including all seven games of the ACC Softball Championship in College Park, Md.
• A record 31 men’s lacrosse games, including all three games of the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship at PPL Park in Philadelphia, Pa. (April 25 & 27).
• Twenty women’s lacrosse games – more than twice as many as any other season – including all seven games of the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
• A record four regular season tennis matches.
• Four additional championships – men’s golf, women’s golf, outdoor track and field, and rowing – will be carried exclusively by the ACC Digital Network, while wrestling and indoor track & field will be on ESPN3.

A total of 191 ACC spring contests will appear on ESPN networks including two on ESPN2, 28 on ESPNU, and 161 on ESPN3. An additional 34 games will appear on the league’s regional sports networks, which include FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Carolina, FOX Sports Florida, Sun Sports, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, NESN, ROOT Sports Pittsburgh, YES Network, and MSG Network. Eleven baseball games will be carried by CSS, and six additional events will be broadcast by the ACC Digital Network.

All games carried on an ESPN network or a regional sport network will also be available on WatchESPN.

In addition to the 242 events announced as part of the conference package, other games will be carried by the regional cable partners of the ACC institutions, by school websites, and as part of other conference television packages. A complete listing of those games will be available at a later date.
