The Cavaliers (17-3) have racked up the third-most dual wins in a season in program history. With another victory, UVa will match the 2007-08 squad for second most in the UVa annals. The program record is 19, set in 2010-11.

UVa completed its ACC dual schedule with a 5-1 record last week after wins over North Carolina (21-9) and NC State (22-10).

Six Cavaliers are ranked this week, with each of UVa’s wrestlers from 141 through 184 pounds claiming a ranking from at least one of the national publications. Nick Sulzer (R-Jr., Cleveland, Ohio) has won 12 straight bouts and is ranked No. 2 at 165 pounds.

Gus Sako (R-Jr., Cleveland, Ohio) is No. 13 at 149 in the Amateur Wrestling News rankings, while Blaise Butler (R-So., Belvidere, Ill.) is ranked No. 14 at 157. Reigning ACC Wrestler of the Week Joe Spisak (R-Jr., Boiling Springs, Pa.) is No. 15 at 141. Stephen Doty (R-Sr., St. Louis, Mo.) is No. 16 at 174. Jon Fausey (R-Sr., Dalmatia, Pa.) earned a No. 19 ranking at 184 from InterMat.

George Mason is 6-13 this season in dual action. Sahid Kargbo holds an 18-10 mark at 141 pounds, while Greg Flournoy is 16-11 at 157. Vincent Rodriguez is 13-9 at 133.

Virginia and George Mason have met 11 times previously, with the Cavaliers holding a 7-4 edge. UVa defeated the Patriots 41-3 last season in Charlottesville.

Virginia’s postseason run begins March 8 with the ACC Championships in Blacksburg, Va., followed by the NCAA Championships March 20-22 in Oklahoma City.
