With the score tied 9-9, Virginia went on a 12-0 run holding BC without a field goal for 9:36, taking a 21-9 lead.
BC answered with a 9-0 run over a span of 1:52 to pull within three, 21-18, with 4:54 left in the first half.

The Cavaliers were 8-of-8 from the free throw line in the final 2:16 of the game and were 10-of-10 overall in the second half from the free throw line.
