CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia starting outfielder Derek Fisher (Jr., Rexmont, Pa.) will miss the next four to six weeks because of a broken hamate bone in his right wrist.

Fisher suffered the injury during the Duke series and is scheduled to have surgery on the fracture on Monday.

A 2014 Preseason All-American, Fisher started each of the Cavaliers’ first 14 games this season in left field. He is batting .333 with four doubles and seven RBI this year and has played in 123 games while batting .300 in his career.

The Cavaliers are next in action Friday through Sunday (March 14-16) with a three-game series against Boston College at Davenport Field.
