CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The schedule for the Virginia-Boston College baseball series this weekend at Davenport Field has been altered because of a forecast for inclement weather on Sunday (March 16). The series begins Friday (March 14) with a 5 p.m. game and now will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday (March 15) beginning at 1 p.m. There will be no game played on Sunday.

ACC game-management protocol stresses that every effort should be made to complete all three games in a conference series. With a high probability for inclement weather Sunday, this change will give the teams the best opportunity to complete the series.

Tickets for the Sunday game will only be accepted for game two of the Saturday doubleheader. Fans with tickets for the Sunday game that cannot attend the second game Saturday may exchange their tickets in advance for a General Admission ticket to any other regular season game by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 542-8821 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or bring their ticket stubs to the gate for General Admission seating at any remaining regular season home game, subject to seat availability at the time of arrival.

Parking will be available in the University Hall, McCue and John Paul Jones Arena lots all weekend. Because of an event at JPJ on Saturday evening, all vehicles in the JPJ lot need to vacate that lot by 5 p.m. Saturday.

WINA 1070-AM and WINA.com will join the first game in progress following the conclusion of the Virginia men’s basketball game. WINA also will carry the second game in its entirety.

Virginia baseball fans are encouraged to sign up for a new text messaging service to stay updated on date and time changes for home games this season. To sign up, text UVABASE to 79516. Standard text messaging rates apply.

Season tickets, 10-game mini-packages, and single-game tickets for the 2014 Virginia baseball season are on sale at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office. Customers may purchase tickets by logging on to VirginiaSports.com, calling (800) 542-UVA1 or by visiting the ticket office in Bryant Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets will also be sold at the Davenport Field ticket windows beginning two hours prior to each home game. The Athletics Ticket Office is closed on Friday, March 14 because of a University holiday.
