CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia Cavaliers (7-2) return to action when in-state foe VMI visits Klöckner Stadium on Monday night. Faceoff with the Keydets (1-8) is set for 7 p.m. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, the contest was moved to Monday, March 24 because of a forecast for inclement weather.
Live stats of the game will be available at VirginiaSports.com. There will be a live video webcast available through Cavaliers Live at VirginiaSports.com for a subscription fee. John Freeman will bring the play-by-play.
Virginia owns a 20-0 all-time record against the Keydets and 2014 is the ninth-straight season the two programs have met in a series that started in 1949. Virginia head coach Dom Starsia is 13-0 all-time against VMI. The Cavaliers’ average victory margin in the series is 17.4 goals.
Mark Cockerton leads UVa and the nation with 30 goals, while James Pannell is No. 2 on the team with 26 goals. Cockerton also leads UVa and the nation with 40 points. Ryan Tucker rounds out the top goal scorers with 15 scores, while Owen Van Arsdale has a team-high 20 assists and 27 points. Mick Parks leads UVa with 36 ground balls, while Joseph Lisicky has caused 14 turnovers. Matt Barrett is saving 45.9 percent of shots between the pipes and is posting an 11.70 goals against average.
VMI head coach Brian Anken is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Keydets after previous stints at Lycoming and Mars Hills. Mickey Hofmeister leads VMI with 14 goals, seven assists and 21 points. Dale Mattice is second on the team with nine goals and Brad Nardella rounds out the top scorers with six goals. Evan Windisch is saving 54.5 percent of shots against in him between the pipes and is posting an 11.09 goals against average.
UVa returns to ACC play on Sunday, March 30 at Maryland. The game is set to faceoff at noon and will be televised live on ESPNU in HD.
Fans with tickets for Tuesday’s game that cannot attend the game on Monday may exchange their tickets in advance for a General Admission ticket to any other regular season game by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 542-8821 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or bring their ticket stubs to the gate for General Admission seating at any remaining regular season home game, subject to seat availability at the time of arrival.

Reserved seats for men’s home games are on sale for $10. Single-game general admission adult tickets for men’s home games are $8, while youth (18 and under), seniors (60 and over), and UVa faculty and staff tickets are $6 each. General admission tickets for groups of 20 or more are priced at $4.
