Awendaw, S.C. – The No. 10 Virginia men’s golf leads the 15-team field after 36 holes of play at the Hootie @ Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, S.C. The Cavaliers shot 7-over 295 Monday for a two-day total of 2-over 578. Virginia enters Tuesday’s final round with a one-shot advantage over Auburn, South Carolina and the College of Charleston.

UVa has a pair of players tied for fourth place after the first two rounds. David Pastore and Derek Bard are two shots behind the co-leaders at 1-under 143. Pastore shot even par 72 on Monday while Bard shot 3-over 75.

Virginia’s Ben Rusch enters the final round in 15th place at 145 while Denny McCarthy is 25th at 148 and Jimmy Stanger is 33rd at 150. Rusch led that group with a 73 Monday while Stanger shot 75 and McCarthy finished the day with a 76.

Virginia will tee off starting at 9:40 a.m. during Tuesday’s final round while paired with Auburn and South Carolina. Live scoring of the tournament is online at Golfstat.com.
