Browns Summit, N.C. – Virginia senior Portland Rosen (Sugar Land, Texas) shares the opening round lead at the Bryan National Collegiate taking place in Browns Summit, N.C., on the Bryan Park Champions Course. Rosen shot 2-under 70 and is tied with Duke’s Laetitia Beck and Michigan State’s Kelly Grassel.

Virginia is tied for eighth overall after shooting 14-over 302 in the blustery conditions. Duke leads the 18-team field at 4-over 292.

UVa’s other scores included 5-over 77s by Elizabeth Brightwell and Briana Mao to put them in 55th place. Lauren Coughlin is 64th after shooting 78 and Lauren Diaz-Yi is 69 after starting with a 79.

The second round of the tournament is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m. Saturday with a shotgun start and the final round is set for Sunday. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
