CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team travels to Pittsburgh this weekend for a three-game series Saturday and Sunday (March 29-30). Due to rain in the Pittsburgh forecast, Saturday’s doubleheader has been moved up to a 10 a.m. start, while Sunday’s single game is scheduled for noon.

Live streaming video (subscription based) and live statistics for all three games will be linked on VirginiaSports.com.

Last time out, the Cavaliers (4-24, 1-10 ACC) dropped a doubleheader to George Mason, 17-6 and 15-5, on Thursday (March 27) at The Park in Charlottesville. Senior Marcy Bowdren (Fairfax Station, Va.) and junior Megan Harris (Knoxville, Tenn.) each had three RBI in the first game and junior Heidi Velk (Murrieta, Calif.) hit a three-run home run in the second game.

The Panthers (8-14, 0-5 ACC) fell to Youngstown State, 4-2, in their last outing on March 27. Carly Thea leads Pitt with a .350 batting average, while Savannah King is 5-10 on the season with a 4.00 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 89.1 innings.

It will be the first matchup between the schools as conference opponents and the first time they have faced since February 28, 2004, a 5-3 UVa victory.

Up next, the Cavaliers travel to Longwood for a doubleheader on April 2 at 4 p.m. in Farmville, Va.
