CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete in their final meet of the regular season Friday as they travel to Raleigh for the Wolfpack Last Chance Meet. The Cavaliers will send 13 athletes to the meet, which will begin at 3 p.m. at the Paul H. Derr Track on the NC State campus.

The meet, which is the last opportunity for athletes to record a time or mark for NCAA Championship consideration, will start with field events at 3 p.m., and running events will beginat 6 p.m.

Virginia will send seven women and six men to the meet. Sprinters Peyton Chaney (Belleville, Ill.), Chimere Ezumah (Gardena, Calif.), Jordan Lavender (Nashville, Tenn.), Tori McKenzie (Chatham, Va.) and Andrea Wright (Chesapeake, Va.), jumper Edy Ndem (Roanoke, Va.) and thrower Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) will be in action for the Virginia women. The men will have six sprinters and middle distance runners competing with David Bartha (Bonyhad, Hungary), Payton Hazzard (Huntington, N.Y.), Nathan Kiley (Chantilly, Va.), Anthony Kostleac (Charlottesville, Va.), Mike Marsella (Hope Valley, R.I.) and Henry Wynne(Westport, Conn.).

The Cavaliers competing will be looking to better their seeding for NCAA consideration. The top 48 athletes in each individual event and top 24 relay teams in the east will compete in the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds at the end of the month. The meet will run May 29-31 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. The top 12 in each event at that meet will advance to the NCAA Championships, held June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
