Three UVa Men's Lacrosse Recruits Named Under Armour All-Americans

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Three Virginia men’s lacrosse recruits that signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) for the 2013-14 academic year were named Under Armour All-Americans and will play in the 2014 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic.
Incoming attackman Tyler Breen (Shrewsbury, Mass./Taft School), defenseman Logan Greco (Hauppauge, N.Y./Smithtown West) and defenseman Scott Hooper (Wakefield, R.I./Hotchkiss School, Conn.) are among 88 of the nation’s top boys and girls high school seniors who have been selected to the sport’s highest honor and will play in the ninth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, July 12 at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.
The trio of UVa recruits makes 44 Under Armour All-Americans that have signed an NLI with UVa since the honor’s inception in 2006, more than any program.
Breen, Greco and Hooper will join a UVa squad for 2015 that will have 14 Under Armour All-Americans on it.
Under Armour All-Americans are selected by a panel of lacrosse experts from Inside Lacrosse Magazine. The year-long selection process includes input from college and high school coaches from across the country as well as nominations from the public.
The selected high school seniors will experience a weekend of events that begins on Friday, July 11 and culminates with the Under Armour All-America Girls Classic on Saturday, July 12 at 5 p.m. followed by the Boys Classic at 7:30 p.m. The Under Armour All-America Boys Classic will be showcased live on ESPNU for the ninth year.
The Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic also includes the Underclassmen Tournament that will feature the top underclass boys and girls players from the classes of 2015-2017 from 10 regions across the country. The three-day Underclassmen Tournament culminates Sunday, July 13 with the girls and boys finals at 3:30 p.m. on the fields surrounding Unitas Stadium.
