CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia women’s tennis standouts Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.), Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) and Rachel Pierson (Princeton, N.J.) will compete in the 2014 NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships, beginning Wednesday (May 21) at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia.

Elbaba, Collins and Nauta will compete in the NCAA Singles Championship, and Elbaba and Pierson will compete in the NCAA Doubles Championship. Round of 64 singles action begins Wednesday, while round of 32 doubles play begins Thursday (May 22).

No. 4 Elbaba earns automatic All-America honors for the second straight year as a seeded player in the NCAA Singles Championship. Elbaba (31-5), who earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors for the second straight season, plays No. 51 Krista Hardebeck of Stanford in the round of 64.

No. 32 Collins (30-10), who earned All-ACC and ACC Championship Most Valuable Player honors, battles No. 43 Veronica Corning of Northwestern in the round of 64.

No. 53 Nauta (33-7), who clinched Virginia’s first ACC Championship title with a dramatic three-set win over Duke’s Hanna Mar, plays No. 3 Kristie Ahn of Stanford in the round of 64.

Elbaba and Pierson (28-12) become Virginia’s first All-America doubles tandem as a No. 5-8 seed. The seventh-ranked Virginia tandem battle USC’s 16th-ranked tandem of Brynn Boren and Zoe Katz in the round of 64.
