CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–Two members of the Virginia rowing team have been named to the 2014 College Rowing Coaches Association Pocock All-America Teams, the CRCA announced Monday (June 9). Senior Brandy Herald (Portland, Ore.) was named to the first team, while fellow senior Constanze Duell (Oberschleissheim, Germany) was recognized on the second team.

It is the 14th-consecutive season Virginia has had multiple All-Americans and the 16th-straight year UVa has had a member on the first team.

Both were part of the Cavalier Varsity Eight that placed eighth at the NCAA Championships to help UVa finish fifth in the team standings. Both were a part of the V8 that captured the ACC title, was named ACC Crew of the Year and helped the Cavaliers win its fifth-consecutive team conference championship.

Herald was named to the 2014 All-ACC First Team as well as the CRCA All-South Region First Team. She was a part of the UVa V8 that finished as the top collegiate boat at the Head of the Charles in 2012 and 2013. Herald was in the Second Varsity Eight crew that finished fifth at the 2012 NCAA Championships, helping the Cavaliers clinch their second NCAA team title. She has represented the United States at the 2008 and 2009 FISA World Championships and is attending the USRowing Under-23 National Team Selection Camp.

Duell was recognized on the 2014 CRCA All-South Region First Team and the All-ACC Second Team. She was a member of the 2013 All-ACC Academic squad and was part of the UVa Varsity Eight that placed fourth at the 2013 NCAA Championships and was named ACC Crew of the Year. Duell has represented Germany twice at the FISA World Under-23 Championships in 2010 and 2011.
