CHARLOTTESVILLE – Former members of the Virginia track and field teams will be in action this week at the United States Track and Field Outdoor Championships, held June 26-29 in Sacramento, Calif.

Three women’s alumnae will be competing at the meet, Stephanie Garcia in the 3000m steeplechase, Lyndsay Harper in the 800m and Rachel Ward in the 10000m. On the men’s side, Sean Keveren will compete in the 10000m.

In addition, two current Virginia volunteer assistant coaches will compete in their respective national championship meets this weekend. Next month, Virginia will have eight athletes competing at the United States Junior Championships. Four Cavaliers who recently completed their freshman season will be in action: Christine Bohan (women’s shot put), Nathan Kiley (men’s 800m), Caitlin Mautz (women’s javelin) and Henry Wynne (men’s 1500m). They will be joined by four incoming first-years: Mia Barron (women’s long jump and triple jump), Andrew Goldman (men’s 5000m), Kenneth Hagen (men’s 800m) and Jack Lint (men’s 400m hurdles and decathlon).

Also next month, rising second-year Filip Mihaljevic and assistant coach Martin Maric will compete in the Croatian National Championships, running July 12-13. Mihlajevic will compete in both the shot put and discus, while Maric, the national record holder in the discus, will compete in that event.
