Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia women’s golfer Elizabeth Brightwell has been named to the 2014 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars team. It marks the third consecutive year the Nellysford, Va., native has been honored by the WGCA.

In 2013-14 she played in all 11 tournaments for the Cavaliers and helped Virginia to a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Championships and a runner-up showing at the ACC Championships. She posted a stroke average of 75.39 during her senior year and registered a pair of top-10 finishes.

She graduated in May with a master’s in leadership and public policy. She completed her undergrad degrees in English and French in 2013.

Brightwell was previously named to the ACC 2014 All-Academic team for women’s golf.

A total of 664 golfers from Division I, II & III were honored by the WGCA. The criteria for selection to the team is to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
