CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The Virginia rowing team has released its 2014 fall schedule, head coach Kevin Sauer announced Tuesday (Aug. 26). The Cavaliers will compete in three fall regattas.

The five-time defending Atlantic Coast Conference Champions will compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles on Oct. 19 in Boston, where the Varsity Eight has finished as the top collegiate crew each of the past three years.

The following week, the Cavaliers will compete at the Princeton Chase on Oct. 26 in Princeton, N.J., where the V8 picked up a win in 2013.

Virginia will conclude the fall schedule with the annual Rivanna Romp at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16 at the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va. In addition to UVa, the Romp will feature crews from Clemson, Columbia, Duke, Louisville, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Old Dominion. The Cavaliers’ Varsity Eight and Varsity Four tallied victories in 2013. Admission is free to the public.

UVa finished fifth at the 2014 NCAA Championships and swept all four events at the ACC regatta to earn its 14th conference crown.
