The Virginia cross country teams enter the 2014 season looking to build upon strong performances in 2013. They will be in action three times at Panorama Farms, on Aug. 29 for the UVa Duals, on Sept. 26 for the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational and on Oct. 31 for the ACC Championships.

Women’s Cross Country Preview

The Cavalier women look to build upon a ninth place finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships. Five runners who earned All-Southeast Region honors return in Maria Hauger, Sarah Fakler, Kathleen Stevens, Cleo Boyd and Sara Sargent. The reigning NCAA Southeast Region champions add a group of talented newcomers, including graduate student transfers Morgan Kelly and Iona Lake.

Men’s Cross Country Preview

The Cavalier men are coming off a 13th place finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships. All-American Kyle King returns after an 18th place finish at NCAAs last season, the best individual finish in program history. All-Southeast Region Zach Herriott, ACC Freshman of the Year Thomas Madden and Adam Visokay also return from last year’s lineup. The return of 2012 ACC Freshman of the Year Connor Rog, who missed last season, and the addition of a strong group of newcomers on;y increases the talent level of this year’s squad.
