CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team announced its 2014-15 schedule on Wednesday (Sept. 10). The Cavaliers will participate in at least six fall tournaments. They also will host the 2015 ITA Women’s Tennis National Indoor Championships and 12 other dual matches during the spring season.

Virginia’s schedule is highlighted by 11 matches against 2014 NCAA Tournament teams: home contests against Georgia, Miami, Florida State, South Carolina and VCU, and road matches at Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, Baylor, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame.

The Cavaliers host Arkansas, Marshall, Northwestern, South Carolina and VCU at the UVa Invite in their only fall event on Oct. 10-12 at Snyder Tennis Center.

Virginia will face each of its 14 conference opponents, including newcomer Louisville, during its ACC schedule.

The Cavaliers will host Syracuse (Feb. 21), Boston College (Feb. 22), Florida State (March 8), Miami (March 27), Wake Forest (March 29), Virginia Tech (April 18) and NC State (April 19). UVa travels to Pittsburgh (Feb. 27), Notre Dame (March 1), Clemson (March 20), Duke (March 22), Louisville (April 4), North Carolina (April 10) and Georgia Tech (April 12).

Virginia hosts VCU (Jan. 18), Utah (Jan. 22), South Carolina (Jan. 31), Georgia (Feb. 2) and George Washington (March 8) in non-conference action. The Cavaliers travel to Baylor (Jan. 24) for their lone non-league road match.

In 2013-14, the Cavaliers captured their first ACC regular season and tournament championships and made their first NCAA quarterfinal appearance in school history en route to a school-best 24-6 record. All-American Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and reigning NCAA singles champion Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas), Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) and Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) return from last season’s squad. Newcomers Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) joined the team this fall.
