CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team continues fall action at the Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 19-21.

The Cavaliers will compete in singles and doubles against players from Dartmouth, Indiana, Marshall, Maryland, Penn, VCU, Wake Forest and host William & Mary.

The action will take place at three facilities – the Millie West Tennis Facility, Commons Courts and the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center – and begin each day at 9:15 a.m. The Tribe Invitational, which began in 1993, is in its 22nd year. For the first time, the format of the tournament will change from a tournament to a team style of play. Each team will play three singles and three doubles matches at the Invite. Doubles matches will take place on Friday and Saturday, meaning each team will compete in two doubles matches on one of the two days. One singles match will be played for each team on every day of the event.

Competing in singles and doubles for Virginia will be junior Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.), sophomore Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) and freshman Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) and Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.). Epstein is ranked No. 122 in the ITA preseason singles rankings.

Virginia posted 10 singles wins and three doubles victories at the Duke Fab 4 Invitational last weekend in Cary, N.C. Junior Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) led UVa with three singles victories and a pair of doubles wins with Epstein.
