UVa Women's Golfers in Seventh Place at Mason Rudolph Championships

Sept. 20, 2014 Franklin, Tenn. – The Virginia women’s golf team is in seventh place after the second round of play at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt’s Legends Club. The Cavaliers shot 10-over 298 Saturday for a two-day total of 595. Vanderbilt, playing on its home course, leads the 15-team field at 571.

After two rounds, Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.) leads UVa at 1-over 145. She shot 74 during the second round after opening with a 71. Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) posted the Cavaliers’ best score Saturday, shooting 3-under 69.

Freshman Maho Hayakawa (Lake Mary, Fla.), playing as a non-scoring individual, is in 36th place at 150. She shot 80 during the second round. Briana Mao (Folsom, Calif.) is in 46th place at 152, Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.) is 43rd at 154 and Alex Hershberger (Basking Ridge, N.J.) is 61st at 157.

LSU’s Madelene Sagstrom and Vanderbilt’s Jenny Hahn share the lead at 4-under 140 through 36 holes of play.
