Styslinger and Kwiatkowski Win Titles at UVa Ranked+1 Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team concluded play Sunday at the UVa Ranked+1 Invitational by winning both singles flights at the Snyder Tennis Center. Junior Mac Styslinger (Birmingham, Ala.) won the Orange Singles draw and sophomore Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.) won the Blue Singles draw.
Styslinger, the No. 4 seed in the Orange Singles draw, defeated Albert Wagner of Louisville in Sunday’s final. He posted a 6-3, 6-1 win to claim his second title of the weekend. On Saturday, Styslinger and sophomore Luca Corniteli (Alexandria, Va.) won the Blue Doubles draw.
Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.), the No. 4 seed in the Blue Singles draw, downed Sebastian Stiefelmeyer of Louisville in the final, 6-1, 6-3. Stiefelmeyer, who is ranked No. 110 nationally, was the third ranked opponent Kwaitkowski defeated on the weekend.
The Cavaliers will return to action next weekend with the start of play at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
