Virginia plays at No. 21 Duke

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The Virginia volleyball team travels to Durham, N.C., Friday evening (Oct. 17) to face No. 21 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The match is set for a 6:30 p.m. start.

The Cavaliers (11-8, 4-2 ACC) look to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Blue Devils (14-3, 6-0 ACC) on Oct. 3 at Memorial Gymnasium. Live statistics and a live video stream (subscription required) will be available through VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia went 1-1 last weekend, falling to No. 11 North Carolina, 3-0, before coming from behind to defeat Virginia Tech, 3-2. The Cavaliers trailed two sets to zero to the Hokies and fought off three match points in the fifth set before earning the last three points to win, 18-16.

Junior Lauren Fuller (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) ranks third in the conference, averaging 10.74 assists per set, while fellow junior Natalie Bausback (Carlsbad, Calif.) is seventh in the ACC with a .354 hitting percentage.

Duke enters the weekend on a nine-match win streak following sweeps at both Boston College and Wake Forest. Emily Sklar leads the Blue Devils and ranks fourth in the conference with 3.98 kills per set, while Sasha Karelov leads the ACC with 5.32 digs per set. Duke leads the all-time series, 47-12, and has won the last 16 matchups.

The Cavaliers return to action next weekend, hosting NC State on Oct. 24 and Notre Dame on Oct. 25. Both matches are set for a 7 p.m. start.
