• Virginia opens a season 7-0 for the first time since 2003-04 (started 8-0)
• The 26 points allowed were fewest allowed by UVa in the shot clock era (since 1986)
• The Cavaliers captured a Thanksgiving tournament for the second straight season, winning the Corpus Christi Challenge last season
• Virginia also defeated Norfolk State, Tennessee State and La Salle in the Barclays Center Classic
• The Cavaliers held Rutgers scoreless for 9:24 in the second half (15:45 to 6:21)
