CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) will compete in the prestigious Master’U BNP Paribas from Dec. 4-7 in Aix-en-Provence, France.

The eight-team competition features six student-athletes and two head coaches from International Tennis Association (ITA) member schools, who will represent the United States against teams from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Russia.

Elbaba recently captured the singles title at the 2014 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. The three-time ITA All-American is ranked No. 5 in the ITA Women’s Preseason Singles Rankings.

Joining Elbaba on Team USA are UCLA women’s players Robin Anderson and Chanelle Van Nguyen, and men’s players Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Virginia), Noah Rubin (Wake Forest) and Nathan Pasha (Georgia).

Cal’s Amanda Augustus and Boise State’s Greg Patton will coach Team USA. Virginia head coach Mark Guilbeau coached Team USA at the event with Patton in 2010 and 2011.

The format for the tournament is best-of-seven matches that will feature two men’s singles matches, two women’s singles matches, one men’s doubles match, one women’s doubles match and one mixed doubles match.
