THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Lavender Looks For More Success – Senior Jordan Lavender is coming off a season where she won the 400m at both the ACC Indoor and Outdoor Championships and was Track MVP of both meets. Already the school record holder in the indoor 400m, she will look to set more records and have success on the national stage this spring.

2. Hazzard Returns with International Experience – Senior Payton Hazzard, who has posted some of the top 400m and 200m times in school history over the past two years, looks to conclude his collegiate career with a strong season. Over the summer he represented Grenada at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland and will look to build upon that international experience during his final year as a Cavalier.

3. Strong Relays – The Cavaliers will once again be expected to have strong relay teams. The women’s 4x400m school records, both indoors and outdoors, were set last year and all members (Jordan Lavender, Andrea Wright, Vanessa Fabrizio, Chimere Ezumah and Peyton Chaney) from those teams return. In addition, three of the four members of last year’s women’s 4x100m relay (Lavender, Wright, Chaney) return after posting the third best mark in school history.
