NOTRE DAME, Ind. – No. 3 Virginia (14-0, 2-0 ACC) plays at No. 13 Notre Dame (15-1, 3-0 ACC) in a key ACC showdown on Saturday, Jan. 10. Tipoff at Purcell Pavilion is set for 6 p.m.
â€¢ Virginia (14-0) is off to its best start since the 1980-81 season when that team led by legendary center Ralph Sampson started 23-0.
â€¢ The 1980-81 top-ranked Cavaliers’ 23-game winning streak to start the season ended with a 57-56 loss to then-No. 11 Notre Dame at the Rosemont Horizon on Feb. 22, 1981.
â€¢ UVa have a seven-game winning streak against Notre Dame.

â€¢ UVa is ranked No. 3 in the latest Associated Press and USA Today coaches polls for the second straight week.
â€¢ The Cavaliers have been ranked in the top 10 for the first nine weeks of the season for the first time since 1982-83.
â€¢ The No. 9 AP preseason ranking was UVa’s best since a No. 1 ranking to start the 1982-83 season.
