Filip Mihaljevic Named ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia redshirt-freshman Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina) was named ACC Men’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday. Mihaljevic set the Virginia record in the shot put during last week’s Rod McCravy Memorial Meet in Kentucky.

Mihaljevic, who set the outdoor school record in the shot put last spring, set the indoor record in his first indoor performance as a Cavalier. He had a mark of 64′ 5″ to finish sixth at the meet, and rank seventh in the nation this year. It was the best mark in the indoor shot put in the ACC since 2007.

The Cavaliers will compete this weekend with select individuals at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston. Mihaljevic will return to action in February.
