CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia and Boar’s Head Sports Club will host the 2015 ITA National Women’s Tennis Indoor Team Championships from Friday-Monday, Feb. 6-9. UVa and Boar’s Head Sports Club are hosting the prestigious event for the fifth straight year.

Joining No. 10 Virginia (4-1) in the 16-team field are No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Florida, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Cal, No. 7 Alabama, No. 9 Georgia, No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 12 Miami, No. 13 Clemson, No. 14 USC, No. 15 Michigan, No. 16 Oklahoma State, No. 20 TCU and No. 26 Kentucky.

The No. 7 seed Cavaliers, who are making their seventh appearance at the event, open the championship against USC on Friday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at Boar’s Head Sports Club. The winner advances to the second round against No. 2 seed Florida or Clemson, while the loser will play in the consolation bracket.

Virginia has defeated VCU (6-1), then-No. 42 Utah (4-3), then-No. 21 South Carolina (5-2) and No. 9 Georgia (4-2) to begin the 2014 dual season.

Junior Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is ranked No. 1 in singles, junior Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked No. 16 and junior Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked No. 42.

Virginia newcomers Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) are ranked No. 11 in doubles, while Elbaba and Nauta are ranked No. 22.

Dual matches are scheduled at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday with the championship match set for 11 a.m. on Monday. Each of the 16 teams is guaranteed three matches during the championship. Fans can attend the four-day championship FREE of charge.
