CHARLOTTESVILLE – The third-ranked Virginia men’s tennis team will play its first road match of the season Saturday as it visits No. 59 VCU. Match time at the Thalhimer Tennis Center in Richmond has been moved to 11 a.m.

The Cavaliers (4-0) return to action after sweeping a four-match homestand three weeks ago. Virginia defeated George Washington and Louisville to qualify for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, held next week in Chicago. The Cavaliers completed the weekend with wins over Liberty and Morgan State.

The Rams (6-2) are coming off a 4-3 loss to Brown last week. VCU was also in Charlottesville three weeks ago for ITA National Team Indoor qualifying, but fell to Louisville in the first round before downing George Washington in the consolation match.

Three Cavaliers are ranked in the latest singles rankings, sophomore Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.) at No. 4, junior Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) at No. 6 and junior Mac Styslinger (Birmingham, Ala.) at No. 47.

Next week the Cavaliers will compete at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago. Virginia has won the title five of the past seven years. The draw will be announced early next week and action begins on Feb. 13 at the Midtown Tennis Club.
