CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia field hockey freshman midfielder Tara Vittese (Cherry Hill, N.J.) will play for the U.S. U21 Women’s National Team in a four-game series against Canada Feb. 12-16, 2015, in Lancaster, Pa.

The games will all be contested at the dome at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex, the home base of the U.S. Women’s National Team.

That same weekend, the U.S. Women’s National Team will play a four-game series against Argentina at the dome with Virginia alums Michelle Vittese (’12) and Paige Selenski (’12) slated to compete for the American squad. All four games of the Feb. 13-18th series will have a live streaming broadcast available via www.usafieldhockey.com.

Tara Vittese, an All-America first team honoree, ended the regular season leading the ACC in points (51), points per game (2.68), goals (17), shots (80) and shots per game (4.21) as well as being tied for first in assists (17) and ranking second in goals per game (0.89) and assists per game (0.89). Nationally, Vittese ranks in the top-12 in points per game (4th), assists per game (6th) and goals per game (11th).

Selenski and Michelle Vittese have been members of the U.S. Women’s National Team since 2010. Both players earned their 100th international caps last summer during the 2014 Hockey World Cup.
