CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s cross country teams will host the 2015, 2016 and 2017 NCAA Southeast Regional at Panorama Farms in Earlysville. The meet returns to the venue after the Cavaliers hosted the regional in 2013.

“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to host the NCAA Southeast Regional again and for the next three years,” said director of track & field/cross country Bryan Fetzer. “It is a great opportunity for our program and our community. Panorama Farms is one of the finest cross country courses in the nation and everyone will have the ability to see it for themselves.”

Panorama Farms, located six miles north of the University, has earned accolades as one of the top cross country facilities in the United States. It has hosted the 2006, 2007 and 2014 ACC Championships and the 2013 NCAA Southeast Regional.

“The Charlottesville area is a great running community and is very supportive of the sport and running in general,” said Fetzer. “We expect large crowds just as there have been at the last two championships we’ve hosted (the 2013 NCAA Regional and 2014 ACCs). We will build on those to enhance the student-athlete experience. Breathtaking views, a competitive course and a large enthusiastic crowd is what each student-athlete should expect when they come here for the championship.”

The NCAA Southeast Regional features schools from Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The top two men’s and women’s teams at the regional receive automatic bids to the NCAA Championships.
