CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The reigning national champion Virginia men’s soccer program has announced a busy schedule for its spring season, including a four-match exhibition slate as well as a foreign tour of England, which begins Friday.

Virginia has been training throughout the spring semester. The Cavaliers will tour England from March 6-15 during the University’s spring break. Virginia will train and play three exhibition matches while in London and Manchester, all against U-21 professional teams. On March 10, the Cavaliers will play a friendly against Crystal Palace FC at Bromley Football Club. UVa plays again the following day against Blackburn Rovers FC. UVa concludes its foreign schedule on March 13 when it matches up with Burnley FC.

Virginia also will spend time touring England, with sightseeing in London and Manchester, including Buckingham Palace, House of Commons, Trafalgar Square, 10 Downing Street, Big Ben and Old Trafford (home of Manchester United). UVa also will make trips to Premier League matches at historic Loftus Park (Queens Park Rangers FC vs. Tottenham Hotspur) and Turf Moore (Burnley FC vs. Manchester City FC).

Once it returns stateside, UVa will play four exhibitions against college teams, beginning Sunday, March 29, with a 1 p.m. friendly against 2014 Big Ten champion Maryland at Klöckner Stadium. The Cavaliers also will entertain VCU (April 4), American (April 11) and Elon (April 19) in exhibitions on the soccer practice field.
