CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior guard Faith Randolph (Derwood, Md.) and sophomore guard Breyana Mason (Woodbridge, Va.) have been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic Team in honors announced as announced today (March 6) by Commissioner John Swofford.

Randolph, who was named to the All-ACC Second Team earlier this week, averaged 16.7 points per game, ranking among the top-six players in the conference in scoring all year. Randolph has scored 20 or more points in a game 11 times this season, including 24 points last Thursday night (Feb. 26) at North Carolina and 23 points on Sunday (March 1) against Louisville en route to being named this week’s ACC Player of the Week. The Women, Gender & Sexuality major leads the ACC and is ranked seven in the nation in free throw percentage, making 90.7 percent of her attempts.

Mason, who has not yet declared a major, has started every game this season for the Cavaliers, averaging 9.3 points per game. Mason has been among the conference leaders in several statistical categories including ranking fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8) and seventh in assists per game (3.6).

This is the first career ACC All-Academic honor for both Randolph and Mason.

Duke’s Elizabeth Williams was named the 2014-15 Kay Yow Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during her academic career.
