CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 5 Virginia women’s tennis team hosts No. 57 Florida State and George Washington on Sunday (March 8) at Boar’s Head Sports Club. The matches were originally scheduled at Snyder Tennis Center, but were moved indoors because of the inclement weather in Charlottesville.

First serve for the UVa-FSU match is set for 11 a.m., while the UVa-GW match will begin at 4 p.m.

Virginia (9-2, 3-0 ACC) brings a four-match winning streak into Sunday after posting identical 6-1 road wins at Pitt and then-No. 26 Notre Dame (6-1) last weekend. Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is ranked No. 1 in singles, Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked No. 27, Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked No. 32 and Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) is ranked No. 108.

Virginia newcomers Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) are ranked No. 23 in doubles, while Elbaba and Nauta are ranked No. 42.

The Cavaliers are 10-22 all-time against Florida State, including a 4-0 win in Tallahassee last season. The Seminoles’ singles lineup features No. 73 Kerrie Cartwright, No. 83 Yukako Noi and No. 102 Daneika Borthwick. Virginia is 3-0 all-time vs. George Washington.
