CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia women’s tennis team hosts No. 16 Miami and Wake Forest in ACC action this weekend at Snyder Tennis Center.

The Cavaliers (12-3, 5-1 ACC) play the Hurricanes on Friday (March 27) and the Demon Deacons on Sunday (March 29). First serve is set for 3 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Sunday is Cavman’s Crew Day at Snyder Tennis Center. There will be a face painter and balloon artist in attendance. After the women’s match (approximately 2 p.m.), the team will conduct a free post-match youth clinic. Children are encouraged to bring their own equipment, but racquets and balls will be provided for children who do not bring equipment. The Cavalier Band will also be in attendance.

Virginia has won seven of its last eight matches, and returns home for the first time since defeating Florida State and George Washington on March 8. The Cavaliers are coming off a road split, winning 4-3 at Clemson before losing 4-3 at Duke.

Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is ranked No. 3 in singles, Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked No. 31 and Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked No. 34. Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) are ranked No. 27 in doubles.

The Cavaliers are 5-14 all-time against Miami, including a 1-1 record last season. Miami features No. 6 Stephanie Wagner, No. 36 Sinead Lohan, No. 63 Clementina Riobueno, No. 96 Wendy Zhang and No. 125 Lina Lileikite. In doubles, Wagner and Lileikite are No. 6 and Monique Albuquerque and Riobueno are No. 29.

Virginia is 21-24 all-time vs. Wake Forest, including a 6-1 win in Winston-Salem last season.
