UVa Men's Golfers Tied for Eighth After 36 Holes at Hootie @Bulls Bay

Awendaw, S.C. – The No. 22 Virginia men’s golf team shot 4-over 292 during the second round of the Hootie @Bulls Bay Intercollegiate to finish the day in a three-way tie for eighth place. The Cavaliers’ 36-hole total stands at 2-over 578. Fifth-ranked South Carolina leads the field at 567.
UVa sophomore Derek Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) shot 1-under 71 to lead the Cavaliers during the second round. He will enter Tuesday’s final round in 15th place at 1-under 143. Senior Denny McCarthy (Rockville, Md.) is in 24th place at 1-over 145.
Sophomore Jimmy Stanger (Tampa, Fla.) and senior Ji Soo Park (Clifton, Va.), who led the Hoos with opening-round scores of 71, dropped back on the leaderboard during the second round. Stanger shot 75 and is in 30th place at 146. Park posted a score of 80 and fell back to 57th at 151. Freshman Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.) is in 60th place at 154. He had a second-round score of 73.
