CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The Virginia softball team picked up a 7-4 victory over Boston College Saturday (April 4) at The Park to earn a series win over the Eagles.

The Cavaliers (11-30, 3-12 ACC) used a seven-run fifth inning to come from behind after BC (16-15, 1-8 ACC) jumped out to a four-run lead.

In the fifth, the Cavaliers’ seven-run rally included a two-run home run by freshman Danni Ingraham (Laguna Niguel, Calif.), a two-run double by sophomore Iyana Hughes (Manteca, Calif.) and four walks.

Junior Aimee Chapdelaine (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) pitched a complete game for the win (2-1), allowing seven hits along with four unearned runs. Allyson Frei (12-10) took the loss for Boston College, allowing five runs.

Up next, the Cavaliers continue the home stand with a doubleheader against Virginia Tech on April 8 at 5 p.m. The doubleheader will be part of the Commonwealth Clash rivalry series between Virginia and Virginia Tech.
