EUGENE, Ore. – The Virginia women’s track and field team concluded the 2015 season with Thursday’s action at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. Senior Jordan Lavender (Nashville, Tenn.) and sophomore Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) competed for the Cavaliers during the opening day of the women’s championship.

Lavender ended her collegiate career with a 23rd place finish in the 400m semifinals, crossing in 54.35. She departs Virginia with the school record in the indoor 200m and 400m and the second-best time in the outdoor 200 and 400m.

Bohan made her NCAA Championships debut in the shot put, finishing 23rd with a mark of 14.23m (46-8.25). The performance concludes an impressive second season for the Cavaliers that featured her breaking the school outdoor shot put record.

The Cavalier men will conclude their season Friday with the second and final day of the men’s championship. Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Jordan Young (Windsor, Ontario) will be in action in the discus competition, and Ryan Satchell (Central Islip, N.Y.) will compete in the triple jump.
