CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Rising senior Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) was named to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Women’s Tennis Team, announced on Wednesday (June 24) by the conference office.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Elbaba, a media studies major, won the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate singles title last fall and ended 2014-15 ranked No. 5 in the ITA singles rankings. She also led Virginia to its second consecutive ACC Championship. Elbaba earned UVa’s first No. 1 singles ranking en route to a 30-7 record in 2014-15. Elbaba has won 30 or more matches in each of her three seasons at Virginia.
