Pinehurst, N.C. – Incoming Virginia freshman Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) will compete in the semifinals of match play at the 113th Women’s North & South Amateur Championship Friday at the legendary Pinehurst No. 2 course.

Redding will face incoming Georgia freshman Bailey Tardy starting at 7:08 a.m. The match play finals will take place Friday afternoon.

Redding reached the semifinals after finishing third in the stroke play portion of the event and then defeating Emily Mills 2-up in the round of 16 of match play and downing Emily Autrique 4 & 2 in the quarterfinals.

Redding shot 11-over 221 in stroke play, posting scores of 76, 75 and 70.

She is attempting to become the fourth player in history to win both the North & South Junior and Women’s championships. She captured the 2013 North & South Girls’ Junior championship.
