July 30, 2015Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia Athletics department announced the dates and times for two annual preseason events during the month of August. Movie Night at Scott Stadium will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8, and the Fall Sports Meet the Teams will take place Sunday, Aug. 16. Admission and parking for both events is free.

Movie Night will feature the popular animated film Despicable Me 2 on the `Hoo Vision screen at Scott Stadium. Fans are asked to park in Scott Stadium’s east parking lot and enter using the east gate, which will open at 6 p.m. The movie is slated to start at 7 p.m. Fans are welcome to view the movie from the field and are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Seating is also available in the stands at Scott Stadium and snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at the concessions stands on the east concourse.

Virginia’s Meet the Teams Day, sponsored by Charlottesville Fashion Square Mall, will take place at John Paul Jones Arena. Members of the men’s soccer, women’s soccer, cross country, field hockey and volleyball teams will be available for photos and autographs starting at 12:30 p.m. The football team will be available for photos and autographs from 1-2:30 p.m. The main entrance as well as the arena’s southeast and garage entrances will be used for this event, opening at 12:30 p.m. Free parking will be available in the JPJ and University Hall surface lots.

The first 500 youth in attendance (grades 8 and below per NCAA regulations) at Meet the Teams Day will receive a free Nike mini football. Posters and schedule cards will be available for fans while supplies last. Additionally, the Cavalier Team Shop in the arena’s lobby will be open and concession stands featuring beverages and snacks will be available on the arena floor.

All fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win door prizes, including 2015 season tickets and autographed memorabilia. Cavman and his horse, Sabre, will be in attendance along with members of the Virginia spirit teams.
