CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team will play its first scrimmage of the season on Thursday, August 20, hosting Kent State at 12 p.m. at Turf Field. Live stats will not be available for the scrimmage.

Admission will be free for all home scrimmages and regular-season field hockey games.

Virginia, last season’s ACC regular-season co-champion, returns its top six goal scorers from last season, including first-team All-American and ACC Freshman of the Year Tara Vittese (Cherry Hill, N.J.), who scored 17 goals with 17 assists, as well as All-Region honorees Caleigh Foust (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) and Lucy Hyams (Whitstable, England).

The Cavaliers wrap up fall training camp next week with a scrimmage on Monday, August 24 at 11 a.m. against Quinnipiac. Virginia’s season-opener is set for Friday, August 28 when UVa hosts Drexel at 6 p.m. at Turf Field.
