CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia baseball head coach Brian O’Connor has announced his team’s schedule for the 2015 fall season. The reigning NCAA champions’ fall schedule consists of a pair of exhibition games as well as the team’s annual intrasquad Orange and Blue World Series.

In exhibition play the Cavaliers will play host to High Point on Saturday, Oct. 3, and the Ontario Blue Jays on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Per NCAA regulations, the Cavaliers’ fall exhibition game with High Point will count toward Virginia’s 56-game regular season for the 2016 season, but the outcome of the game will not be included in the Cavaliers’ win-loss record in 2016. UVa will play 55 regular-season games in the spring.

The Orange and Blue World Series begins Sept. 24 and consists of seven games, concluding with Game 7 on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

There is no admission charge for any of Virginia’s exhibition games or Orange and Blue World Series contests. Free parking will be available in the University Hall lot. Fans should enter Davenport Field for all fall games along the first-base line and not the main gate. The best route to reach this entrance is by using the road adjacent to the Lannigan Field track complex.

The Cavaliers begin fall practice on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. That practice is open to the public. It is one of two practices that are open to the public during the fall season. UVa’s practice on Saturday, Sept. 12, also is open to the public. The 9 a.m. practice session precedes the UVa football team’s home opener with Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m.

Virginia owns the most wins in Division I baseball over the last seven seasons with 342. UVa has made four trips to the College World Series in that span, culminating with the Cavaliers’ NCAA Championship in 2015. Virginia returns 18 letterwinners from the national championship team and welcomes 18 newcomers to the program this season.
