Charlottesville, Va. – Fresh off a third-place finish at the College of Charleston’s Cougar Classic to open the season, the Virginia women’s golf team is in Tennessee this week for Vanderbilt’s 15th annual Mason Rudolph Championship. The 54-hole event runs Friday through Sunday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. A total of 17 teams will compete, including seven of the top 25 teams from the end of the 2015 season.

In addition to Vanderbilt, the field includes Alabama, Auburn, GRU-Augusta, Baylor, UCF, Georgia, Houston, LSU, Louisville, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee State, Northwestern, South Carolina, Tulane and Yale.

Virginia’s lineup will feature senior Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.), freshman Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.), senior Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.), sophomore Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, Va.) and freshman Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.). First-year Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) will compete as an individual.

Szokol led the Cavaliers at the Cougar Classic with a seventh-place finish, shooting 1-under 215. Gonzales had an impressive debut, placing 11th overall at even par 216.

Last year Virginia finished sixth in the 15-team Mason Rudolph field. Coughlin led the Hoos with a 16th-place performance at 6-over 222. Szokol tied for 30th at 225.

This year, 18 holes will take place on Friday through Sunday, with fixed tee times on number one and 10 starting at 8 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday and 7:30 a.m. CT Sunday.

The tournament will take place on the South Course for the second consecutive year and will be formatted as a par-72, 6,321-yard setup.
